We recently received some photos from Iron Age in Seattle Design who are prototyping our Xantho Seat furniture.

The design has come a long way since winning the Land8 / Iron Age Street Furniture Design Competition in May 2013.  To begin with the competition entry didn’t include a backed seat (just a backless bench), so the additional furniture element needed to be designed and documented.  There are still a few minor detail to work out before the seat goes into full production, but hopefully we’ll be seeing the Xantho seat on a street corner near you before too long!

Xantho Seat prototype: assembled seat (painting of metal and oiling of timber battens to be completed)
