Nestled within the urban fabric of Beverly Hills, Merv Lynch Reserve is a much-loved neighbourhood park that supports play, learning and everyday community life. Georges River Council identified the opportunity to transform the reserve into a landmark district-level playspace—one that reflects local character, celebrates community identity and delivers a high-quality, inclusive play experience within a green setting.
NewScape Design was engaged to develop a comprehensive concept plan and masterplan for the playspace and its surrounds, establishing a clear and unified vision for the site. The design is grounded in best-practice playground and inclusive design principles, rationalising existing elements while seamlessly integrating new play opportunities, landscape works and supporting infrastructure.
The project scope included the design and documentation of new play equipment, certified soft-fall and fall zones, site furniture and fixtures, hard and soft landscaping, as well as associated demolition, excavation and construction works. Delivered in mid-2024, the upgraded reserve enhances the quality, diversity and accessibility of play, reinforcing Merv Lynch Reserve as a vibrant, welcoming and resilient community destination.
