Murramarang South Coast Walk

Track & Facilities Design Concept

South Coast multi-day hike

The concept to provide a continuous and high-quality hike through Murramarang National Park from Batemans Bay to Bawley Point was initially raised by the Shoalhaven Bushwalking Advisory Group. NewScape were commissioned by OEH in December 2016 to plan the proposed route and prepare a Track & Facilities Upgrade Concept Report.

Murramarang National Park has many attributes that make it suitable for a multi-day hike with its stunning coastline, a range of pristine landscape types, rich Aboriginal heritage, relatively flat topography ideal for a wide range of walkers and variety of accommodation options already existing along the route. Once track upgrades have been undertaken the Murramarang South Coast Walk will be completed by walkers in four days averaging 8-12 km a day. Track upgrades will also increase the range of day hiking opportunities for visitors based in any of the existing villages along the route.
