Long term vision for an overnight visitor friendly experience in Wollemi National Park
NewScape Design was engaged by National Parks and Wildlife Service to propose a long-term vision for Coorongooba Campground in Wollemi National Park.
The design of Coorongooba Campground focuses on the goal of a long-term proposal to formalise the campground into an overnight visitor-friendly experience of the Wollemi National Park.
The design of Coorongooba Campground restructures the existing use of the site into a separation of day use and camping, giving different visitors privacy and greater access to the sandy banks of the Capertee River. Much of the south bank will be rejuvenated into bushland, and throughout the east campground, a formalised private car camping will allow for bookable sites for future visitors.
The future of the campground will play a vital role for visitors entering and experiencing the wilderness of the Wollemi National Park.
