Long term vision for visitor precincts in the wilderness setting of northern Kosciuszko National Park
The Blue Waterholes natural feature is a growing visitor attraction in northern Kosciuszko National Park. People are drawn to this wilderness setting, with it’s exquisite blue swimming holes, steep gorges, extensive bushwalking tracks and unique cave systems. However existing facilities are insufficient to cater for visitor numbers, with campgrounds reaching overcapacity during peak periods and degrading the sensitive karst environment.
NewScape were commissioned by National Parks to expand upon existing campgrounds to meet future visitor requirements whilst retaining the low key natural setting with minimal installation of infrastructure. This covers several precincts and proposes a number of options and staging for long term sustainable vision of the area.
